Ateş Uslu: Galatasaray Üniversitesi İİBF Uluslararası İlişkiler Bölümünü‌ bitirdi. Yüksek lisans derecesini Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne Üniversitesi Tarih Bölümünden aldı. Doktora çalışmalarını yine aynı üniversite ile Budapeşte Eötvös Loránd Üniversitesi (ELTE) arasındaki ortak bir program çerçevesinde tamamladı. Doçent unvanını siyasal düşünceler alanında aldı.

Halihazırda İstanbul Üniversitesi Siyasal Bilgiler Fakültesi’nde öğretim üyesi (profesör) olarak çalışmaktadır. 2024-2025 akademik yılında Berlin Humboldt Üniversitesi Felsefe Bölümü Toplumsal Eleştiri Merkezi‘nde misafir araştırmacı olarak görev yapmıştır. Ekim 2025-Ocak 2026 arasında Konstanz Üniversitesi Bilgi Tarihi Kürsüsü’nde misafir araştırmacı olarak görev yapmıştır.

Siyasal düşünceler tarihi, kültür tarihi ve siyasal tarih alanlarında çeşitli dergi ve kitaplarda yayımlanmış makalelerinin yanı sıra Lukács: Marx’a Giden Yol (2006), Siyasal Düşünceler Tarihine Giriş: Tarihyazımı, Temel Yaklaşımlar ve Araştırma Yöntemleri (2017) ve  Siyasal Düşüncelerin Toplumsal Tarihi(3 cilt, 2021) adlı üç kitabı bulunmaktadır.

Paper presentation at Historical Materialism Istanbul Conference 2026.   Abstract: Throughout the 1960s, Georg Lukács set himself the objective of writing an ethics from a Marxist perspective—a project that remained unfinished at his death in 1971.
